Eruption has started in Grimsvotn.  The last eruption in Grímsvötn occurred in November 2004. Grímsvötn is Iceland’s most frequently erupting volcano.  Last year Eyjafjallajokull errupted

Moreover, the modern Icelander only has to look back two or three generations to discover a sheep-growing farmer in his line of genes. Historically, it is often claimed that without the hardy Icelandic sheep, providing meat, milk and wool, the isolated Icelandic human population would not have survived centuries of hardship and poverty.

Each flower is handmade of plastic clay in Iceland, at first just by the designer Steinunn Vala, but now also by a few of her friends and family members.
Because each flower is handmade no two are exactly the same.  In certain ways the making of the jewelry is similar to the work of artists like painters, as the flowers have a tendency to change and involve with the person making them, even without being planned.
